Circa 1928 Spalding Custom
3 Iron

This custom Spalding-made, flanged-sole 3 Iron looks very much like the design used for the famous set of Bobby Jones Spalding irons that command a high dollar among collectors of rare wood-shafted golf clubs. It’s impossible to verify if the template used for this club is the same as the one used for Jones’ clubs, but the specs are very similar.

Made for Bob Nichols, who was the golf professional at Southward Ho! C.C. on Long Island, NY, in the late 1920s.

  • 27 degrees of loft, C7 swingweight, 38-1/4 inches long

  • New suede grip and whipping

  • Refurbished for play (head reset with epoxy, new brass pin, shaft reconditioned)

  • SOLD
